Hyundai i800

The Hyundai i800 is a new model minivan with bodywork, rear traction and eight seats, which replaces the Hyundai H-1. It's on sale for € 28,900, with a diesel engine of 170 hp and a closed equipment, which includes stability control.

Hyundai believes that the Hyundai i800 is an alternative to the alternatives for passengers of some industrial models, as the Opel Vivaro, Renault Traffic and Volkswagen Transporter.

Thus, if we compare it with other people carriers among more than 4.8 metres, is notable for being the only model that has eight seats. A SsangYong Rodius is less costly, while a Chrysler Grand Voyager is much more expensive. Regarding the Rodius, the Hyundai i800 provides an extra seat and better access to rear seats (thanks to have sliding side doors), but has a less flamboyant interior and a worse relationship between price and equipment.

The Hyundai i800 has two sliding side doors and tailgate. Its exterior dimensions are greater than those of the H-1, who is being replaced. It measures 5.12 meters long, 1.90 m wide and 1.92 meters high. The battle (wheelbase) is very long (3.20 m). A Rodius has a size similar to the Hyundai i800, but its height and his battle are minors.

It's a minivan with a spacious interior in all dimensions and can travel comfortably occupants of various characteristics. The quality of finish is normal, has no major defects and gives feeling of robustness.

The Hyundai i800 interior has eight seats and three rows of seats (in configuration 2 +3 +3). The driving position is normal in a vehicle of this kind, since it has a seat placed in a position high above ground that gives a high visibility.

In the second row is a bench of three seats, which is divided into two sections with proportions 1 / 3 and 2 / 3. Each of the two sections has a longitudinal adjustment of 10 cm and backing adjustable tilt. The seat can anticipate up grazing the front seat, thereby facilitating access to the third row of seats.

The bench of the third row is also heading, but has no longitudinal displacement. Only you can regulate the seat-back and folding it on the sidewalk, thereby expanding the capacity of the trunk.

Stresses on other similar models, in the great room for the legs of available occupants of the second row (still carrying the front seat). The width and height is also very good in this row, so it is highly advisable to carry three adults (including high or high body mass) in this row.

In the third row, there are slightly less wide and less space to head in the second row. In addition, the seat is slightly less wide. If the seat of the second row is delayed, space for the legs is very fair for occupants who are not children.

The trunk is very broad, measured according to SAE 851 l (ie 10 litres more than the Rodius, Tamba is measured according to this rule).

The Hyundai i800 is a minivan more maneuverable than a Rodius, since it revolves less space (very little bearing in mind their long battle). It also has a direction that is soft to a low speed, but we feel something sensitive to a high speed, because small movements on the steering too have an effect in the immediate path.

The Hyundai i800 suspension has a mild adjustment that makes it comfortable, but which allows large movements of the body, though less than in a Rodius.

The diesel engine is the same bearing the KIA Sorento. It is a four-cylinder 2.5 litre engine capacity, with direct injection through common and variable turbocharger. It reaches a maximum power of 170 hp at 3,800 rpm and has a maximum torque of 392 Nm at 2,000 laps.
It is linked to a five-speed manual, which is near the steering wheel and has a precise drive.

With this engine, the Hyundai i800 can reach 180 mph maximum speed and consumes 8.5 l per 100 km in combined cycle. It is moderate consumption, taking into account the size and weight (over 2,300 kg) of this model.

The 170 hp engine is enough to move the Hyundai i800 with agility, at least when we drive with low weight. Highlights for having a great strength from a regime very low (only 1,400 laps), and rises of turns smoothly and with a certain force up above the maximum power regime.

Developments of change are short, so it reaches the maximum speed in excess of rated maximum. This helps having a good resilience and overtaking. However, is missing a sixth motion, to bring the engine to a more relaxed regime in favour of a sound and a lower consumption.

The mechanical sound that is heard in the interior is low, when the engine circulates with a moderate regime. If we are accelerating or bringing the engine to a high regime, noise is noticeable. In addition, if circular to a high speed, wind noise is quite intense.

The Hyundai i800 equipment of the Hyundai i800 is varied, but is weaker. From leads series front airbags, stability control, dual air conditioning, remote control in the rear parking lot, trip computer, audio equipment with CD reader (compatible with MP3 discs) and auxiliary connection, anti-theft alarm and alloy wheels, 16 ".

There are no options available, so that the equipment that there are important elements missing. You can not have side airbags and front head, automatic climate control, developer of speed, automated equipment for lights and wipers and electrically folding mirrors, among other things.
As accessory dealer can be mounted some elements, like a browser with touch screen.

The Hyundai i800 front suspension is independent of type McPherson with helical springs. Behind, wearing a rigid axle with helical springs and stabilizing bar.

From Hyundai i800 there is a commercial version, called "H-1 Van ', which can be chosen with one or two row of seats (three seats in each of the rows of seats) and a large cargo space. Later, this variant also may be bought with a 136 hp diesel engine. The commercial versions carry crossbows instead helical springs.
